Dr Joel Dixon
Chiropractor and Cox® Certified Practitioner


Graduating from RMIT School of Chiropractic in 1986, Dr Dixon has specialized in Disc Decompression therapies for the last 15 years and is certified in Cox flexion distraction. This therapy is considered to be the “gold standard” used by thousands of Chiropractors around the world to treat low back and leg pain, neck and arm pain, and other spinal pain conditions.

Cox® flexion distraction is a well-researched, well-documented, and proven technique for decompressing spinal nerves and treating low back pain. It’s a gentle, non-surgical, no-force procedure that helps the spine heal properly , and keeps it as pain free as possible.

Dr Dixon has successfully treated thousands of patients with varying degrees of spinal disc pathology requiring non surgical, conservative decompression.

Dr Dixon’s Chiropractic services have supported athletes from a range of organisations including Sydney Swans and NBL clubs, South Dragons and Gold Coast Blaze.

He also has had an extensive background in obstetrical spinal disorders and has been registered at two private hospitals providing in house spinal therapy.

Dr Dixon’s modern chiropractic education and use of latest technology enables rapid symptom resolution and return to full spinal function as quickly as possible.

Dr Amelia Pappas
Chiropractor and Cox® Certified Practitioner


Dr Pappas began practice at the end of 2009. Areas of special interest include obstetrical back pain, paediatric care and disc lesion reduction/decompression using flexion-distraction therapy.

In March 2010, she commenced Cox flexion-distraction certification and became fully certified in November 2012. Dr Pappas has a special interest in educating patients to manage and relieve neck and back pain and has previously run Stretch and Back classes.

Dr Danica Newbold

B.HSci (Chiro), M. ClinChiro, Ad.Dip Myotherapy

Dr Newbold completed her Chiropractic studies and graduated from RMIT University in 2016. Prior to this, she had qualified and was working as a Myotherapist.

After witnessing a family member undergo the pain and struggle associated with a disc conditions, Danica developed a keen interest in the conservative management and treatment of spinal and disc injuries and diseases.

Dr Newbold understands the relationship between the spine and surrounding musculature and finds a multi modal approach beneficial for treating most conditions. She also uses therapeutic techniques such as: Ultrasound, Cupping and dry needling and cupping. as part of her repertoire to treat a range of conditions

Dr Newbold became fully certified in Cox® Technic in November 2017

Dr Newbold practices at Malvern Chiropractic and Melbourne Spine Clinics and runs Stretch class at Malvern Chiropractic Clinic.

Dr Garry Cook

D.C. (USA)

Dr Garry Cook graduated from Palmer College in the USA and started practising in Malvern in 1973.

Dr Cook’s main chiropractic treatment techniques are Gonstead, Diversified and Activator. He also uses some massage and mobilization within his treatment.

Every year Dr Cook attends seminars and conferences to keep up with the latest trends in spinal care.

Dr Cook has very good results treating all age groups, but has particular expertise in treating the elderly and children.

Conditions that respond particularly well to his treatment are neck and low-back pain, headaches and migraines, arm pain and leg pain (sciatica).
